What does a typical day look like for you and what are you currently working on?
Product demonstrations and presentations to new customers along with providing ongoing support to current customers would form the larger part of my day. Working in new business development, I engage with new customers, work closely with marketing to feedback any new ideas and I also help customers to develop their use of WorkfloPlus by helping them to identify all of the areas that would drive the best ROI based on previous experience and a strategic approach.
What is on your wish list for your next five years here?
I would like to help Intoware expand on its current success in various industries. I would like to bring on board more new customers who share the same vision that implementing a powerful digital instruction tool such as WorkfloPlus can help companies manage their teams, streamline their processes and reap the rewards of real-time integrations and visual dashboards from their frontline operations enabling data-informed continuous improvement.
What kind of skills do you need to be effective in your role?
Patience, commitment and being organised are key to being successful in my role. I work with customers globally, and although the challenges may be similar it has always been beneficial to make sure that everything has been done to ensure the adoption of new technology has been properly implemented and considered. I pride myself on building long-term relationships and in my opinion the only way to do this successfully is to ensure the customer feels that their best interests are always taken care of and that they receive the level of service they have been promised and expect - delivering against an agreed set of objectives is of course a top priority also.
What do you like most about your job?
I really enjoy working with such a friendly and supportive team. It’s also a great time to be a part of the sales team during some very exciting times helping customers from all around the world who face similar challenges. Every day I meet new people and I have always found it very rewarding to connect with customers and build relationships while working closely with them to understand their needs and provide solutions to suit.
What’s your most memorable facepalm moment?
I once had to replace the casing for my partner’s car keys which unbeknownst to myself contained an immobiliser chip that I failed to transfer across to the new key. When the engine would not start the next day, a recovery lorry brought the car to our local garage where it stayed for a number of weeks only for me to realise the above and pick up the car with the old keys and a very sincere apology involving a gift for their efforts - although they did fortunately see the funny side.
We have a tradition of having a joke of the week during our team catch up. In honour of this can you give us your favourite joke?
How many tickles does it take to make an octopus laugh?
What’s your favourite line from a film?
Sell me this Pen - Wolf of Wall Street
Finally, who would you like to highlight from the next issue's “Meet The Team” segment?
I'd like to nominate Sean Hennelly, Intoware's COO
