Intoware Newsletter – Summer 26

A Welcome from Intoware’s CEO, Keith Tilley

Well, as I write this, what another interesting few weeks. The summer weather has finally settled down a little after some record temperatures, Spain have been crowned the World Cup champions, and at Intoware we press on regardless because, like your business, the work doesn’t stop just because people are taking well-earned holidays.

That’s a theme that runs right through this issue.

When key people are away, when experienced operators move on, or when the knowledge that holds an operation together walks out the door, what’s left? Too often, the answer is panic! A reliance on whoever happens to be around, on memory and on habit. What you end up with is a fragile operation dressed up as a resilient one.

That’s what knowledge retention is really about. Not documentation for its own sake, but making sure your operations don’t depend on any single person being present. The real test of your processes isn’t an audit. It’s annual leave.

This issue goes deep on that challenge. We look at the hidden cost of tribal knowledge in frontline operations, how digital work instructions help you upskill your workforce while preserving valuable expertise, and why your AI investment is only ever as valuable as the knowledge you’ve given it to work with. These aren’t theoretical questions; they’re challenges facing operations and maintenance teams every day.

We’re also introducing Projects, a significant new addition to WorkfloPlus that we’re genuinely excited about. By bringing planning and work execution together in one place, Projects gives you greater visibility and control over complex programmes of work, from the first scheduled task through to final sign-off.

Finally, we round up our visit to Posidonia. It was a fantastic event and confirmed just how much appetite there is in the maritime sector for what we’re building. We’d also like to thank our partner Astraeus Systems for their support and for putting in the hard yards alongside Brad throughout the event.
